The International Film Festival "Pacific Meridian" presents the project "Kinoproba" (film test), aimed at beginner moviemakers. The project was first introduced in 2006. The main purposes of the "Kinoproba" project are: to find talented young people and assist in their receiving as much knowledge of filmmaking as possible, both in theory and practice, and provide them an opportunity of direct contact and communication with film professionals.
During five days of the project the participants of "Kinoproba" attend workshops and master classes of theleading film professional. To become a participant of "Kinoproba" one should pass a competition selection.
In 2006 it was the competition of live-action short films, in 2007 - the competition of scripts for short films, in 2008 - the competitoin of short films by mobile phone cameras and for mobile phone, in 2009 it was the competition of the short films with elements of computer graphics. The winners of the competition get an accreditation to the festival and beom the participants of the "Kinoproba" program wich gives them an opportunity to present their work to the audience and film professionals.
